Roach Energy donates to Warming Hands and Hearts program

May 22, 2012

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Roach Energy and ROCS stores representatives recently presented a check for $12,967 to United Way of the Eastern Panhandle for Warming Hands and Hearts (WHH).

This amount includes a $6,500 grant through the BP Fueling Communities Program, which Roach Energy/ROCS applied for on behalf of the program, according to a news release from the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle.

The additional money raised for the program came from the proceeds of the sales of special WHH coffee mugs sold at ROCS convenience stores and a donation was provided by Roach Energy for every gallon of heating fuel oil sold to their customers requesting the WHH delivery trucks.

Individuals, churches and civic organization contributed $5,928 directly to United Way for the program, the release said.

Warming Hands and Hearts provides low-income residents of Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan County assistance with utility assistance during the winter heating season and served 158 families this winter.
