James Walter Wynkoop Jr., 53, of Chambersburg, went to meet the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2012, after a short illness.

Born Aug. 12, 1958, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, James W. Wynkoop Sr. and Jane Forrest (Gigous) Gorman.

James attended South Hagerstown High School.

He had worked as a floor mechanic for Dorsey Brothers, Hagerstown, a security guard for Liberty Mountain Resort, Fairfield, Pa., and a meat cutter for Sunnyway Foods Inc., Chambersburg.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Hagerstown, the Waynesboro Fish and Game Club and the Sons of the American Legion, Morris Frock No. 42, Hagerstown.

James is survived by two children, Nicole Crone of Greencastle and Shane Wynkoop of Hagerstown; stepfather, Gary P. Gorman of South Mountain, Pa.; girlfriend, Bonnie Speaks; three sisters, Joan Hawn of Fairplay, Sherry Tenneson of Chambersburg and Jamie LaRue of Hagerstown; one brother, David Wynkoop of Waynesboro; a stepbrother, Benjamin P. Gorman of Waynesboro; and two grandchildren, Jordyn Crone and Lucas Wynkoop.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Savannah Wynkoop.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
