Walter C. Krouse, 84, of Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa., died Friday, May 18, 2012, at Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of years.
Born Dec. 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Dallas and Mae (McDermott) Krouse.
He lived in Greencastle close to 50 years.
Mr. Krouse served as a medic in the U.S. Army.
He and his wife, Anna E. (Diller) Krouse, were married April 13, 1963, in Greencastle.
He was employed as a machinist at Mack Trucks for most of his life, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Hagerstown Church of Christ and the EAA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Brenda K. (wife of Andrew) Sites, Fredericksburg, Va., Benita F. (wife of Brian) Miller, Greencastle, and Beverly A. (wife of R.L.) Dunn, Chesterfield, Va.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Miller; and his 11 older siblings.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Hagerstown Church of Christ, 19644 Leitersburg Pike, Hagerstown, Md., with ministers Richard McGough and Ray Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 417 Phoenix Drive, Suite A, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
