Blossom School of Etiquette banquet

Blossom School of Etiquette will host a mother/daughter celebration and luncheon from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Hagerstown Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Prospect St. in downtown Hagerstown. Tickets cost $15 a couple, and any combination of women is welcome: mom, sister aunt, grandma, etc. Door prizes, speakers and entertainment will be provided, and a catered lunch will be served.

Saturday, May 26:  Timothy R. Snyder presents his book “Trembling in the Balance ...The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal During the Civil War,” at 2 p.m. A book signing will follow.

Ravens Nest banquet to feature Dennis Pitta
Tri State Ravens Nest No. 12 will hold its annual player of the year and scholarship banquet from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Ramada Plaza Hotel,  1718 Underpass Way in Hagerstown. The player of the year is No. 88, tight end Dennis Pitta. The buffet dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar, raffles, silent and live auctions, and entertainment by a local Elvis tribute artist. Tickets cost $30 per person.
