Meyersdale 4, Southern Fulton 3

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Marley Elbin, Maddie Mellott, Jordan Dineen and Kelsey White each had two hits for Southern Fulton, but a seventh-inning rally by the Indians (9-9) fell short against Meyersdale in their regular-season finale.

Elbin held Meyersdale to four hits while walking four and striking out eight.

CYCLING

Mon-Tour road race

DANVILLE, Pa. — Smithsburg High School graduate Brian Patton finished ninth in the seventh annual Mon-Tour 78.5-mile road race on Saturday.

Patton, 34, representing Antietam Velo Club/Team Hagerstown-Washington County Tourism, covered the difficult course that has seven major climbs and more than 6,000 feet of climbing in 3 hours, 58 minutes, 35-seconds.

Hagerstown’s Mike Spinnler, 53, also racing for AVC/Team Hagerstown-Washington County Tourism, finished 32nd in 4:10:56.

Cameron Dodge, 21, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. — representing the Scott Factory Team — won the race in 3:57:03.

BRIEF

High school softball registration

Registration for the high school division of the Washington County Girls Softball League is under way. Prospective players can sign up at the Kemps Mill Softball Complex near Williamsport weeknights after 5 p.m. and throughout the day Saturday through May 26.
