WESTMINSTER, Md. — Williamsport senior Evan Hardy added the Maryland Class 2A West 1,600-meter title to his collection during the second day of competition at Winters Mill on Saturday.
Hardy, who won the 3,200 on Thursday, finished in 4 minutes, 21.96 seconds for the 1,600 title on Saturday. He also took third in the 800 in 1:58.65 as the Wildcats finished second in the boys team standings with 87 points — just one behind champion Century.
Also for Williamsport’s boys, Kevin Zeger (41.42) and Jesse Zeger (42.00) finished second and third in the 300 hurdles, Theron Palmer was second in the 400 (51.56) and the Wildcats’ 4x400 relay team was third in 3:32.99.
Williamsport’s girls team finished sixth with 36 points, led by two third-place finishes by Lauren Johnson in the 200 (26.20) and the 400 (1:00.06). The 4x400 relay team also was third in 4:10.50.
