Firefighters battle fire on Harpers Ferry Road

Firefighters battled a blaze for several hours Saturday night at 4231 Harpers Ferry Road in Sharpsburg.

The call was dispatched at 3:03 p.m. and units remained on the scene past 9 p.m. Smoke could be seen rising from the home at 9 p.m.

Traffic was detoured to Millers Sawmill Road from Harpers Ferry Road as a result of the fire.
