HAGERSTOWN — Local Baltimore Orioles fans will get a glimpse of the team’s most recent top draft pick this weekend at Municipal Stadium.

Right-hander Dylan Bundy is scheduled as the starting pitcher for the Delmarva Shorebirds in the final game of a four-game series against the Hagerstown Suns on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

The Orioles selected Bundy with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft out of Owasso (Okla.) High School. He was named the 2011 national high school player of the year by Gatorade, Baseball America and USA Today.

He has started seven games for the Shorebirds this season, but has worked just 25 innings as the Orioles slowly increase his workload. His last start was his longest, a five-inning outing against the Lakewood BlueClaws on Monday.

However, Bundy has overwhelmed hitters in those 25 innings, allowing just four hits, two runs (both unearned) and two walks while striking out 36. Opposing hitters have a paltry .051 batting average against him.

Bundy faced the Suns on April 17 in his third start of the season. He pitched three innings without allowing a hit while walking one and striking out three.
