Annabelle Mellott, 89, a resident of Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md., went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.

Born Oct. 21, 1922, in Clear Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Mayette Emerson Smith and Viola Willett Myers Smith.

She was of the Protestant faith. She attended Calvary Temple Church at Williamsport and New Life Victory Center of Hagerstown. She was the co-founder of the Walnut Point Chapel.

She was employed by Fairchild Aircraft, and later Rohr Industries, retiring after 51 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Joann K. Martz and husband, David, of Williamsport; a son, Michael Emerson Mellott and wife, Mary, of Boonsboro; three sisters, Betty Jane Harper of Falling Waters, W.Va., Helen E. Rhoton of Williamsport, and Janice Darlene Hogston of Maryville, Tenn.; four brothers, Harrison Smith, Douglas Smith and Gary Smith, all of Hagerstown, and Robert Smith of Clear Spring; one granddaughter, Cindy Michelle Mellott of Hagerstown; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah Ann Mellott of Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Lee Robinson, Mary Elizabeth Braithwaite and Shirley Jean Smith; and two brothers, Franklin Donald Smith and Mayette Bud Smith Jr.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 23, at 1 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Jimmy Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
