Emma Grace Geary, 91, of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the Golden Living Center, Hagerstown.

Born Dec. 4, 1920, in Williamsport, Md., she was the daughter of the late Cyrus Clement and Ida Mae (Renner) Kershner. She was the wife of the late William Edward Geary, who died Dec. 24, 1997.

Emma was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hagerstown, and a past member of the Ladies of the Elks and Associates, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 378, Hagerstown.

Emma is survived by a daughter-in-law, Judith E. Geary of Hagerstown; a sister, Thelma Binkley of Greencastle, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by her only son, Michael E. Geary; two sisters, Sarah Wyatt and Margaret Hoffman; and two brothers, John Kershner and David Kershner.

At Emma's request, there will be a private graveside service, with Deacon William P. Nairn officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

There will be no visitation.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742, or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

The Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Bryan K. Kenworthy P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
