MONT ALTO, Pa. — Children from the Waynesboro (Pa.) Area YMCA's Y’s Nest preschool program for 4- and 5-year-olds and teacher Melody Gober recently took a field trip to Penn State Mont Alto.

Students of Professor Nancy Funk's Theatre 102 course presented five puppet shows designed to teach the preschoolers. The lessons covered counting, identifying colors, showing respect for others, the 911 emergency process and learning simple, basic Spanish.

Between shows, their hostess kept the attention of the children with games and songs.

Later, they were provided with supplies to create their very own Nittany Lion puppets.
