The driver of a Ford Explorer ran a red light on Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Antietam Street in Hagerstown and struck a Toyota, Hagerstown Police Department Officer John Hoffner said.

The Explorer was coming down Antietam Street when it crashed into the Toyota, causing the Explorer to roll over once and end up on a sidewalk, Hoffner said.

The Explorer also knocked out a street lamp, Hoffner said.

A female driving the Explorer was cited for running a red light in the crash, which was reported at 12:34 p.m., Hoffner said.

That driver and a female driving the Toyota went to be checked at the hospital, Hoffner said.

Hoffner said he did not have the names of the drivers.
