Taste of the Arts will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in downtown Hagerstown. Visitors can listen to live music and view local artists at work while tasting culinary sample treats at 12 venues. $20 with a $3 mailing fee and a $4 Internet charge. 2. Friday night is for rocking

Legions Prevail, pictured, along with Fero Lux, Royale, Casanova Frankenstein, In False Remedies and Just Ask Alice will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Right Choice Ministries, 20204 Old Forge Road, Hagerstown. $5. Proceeds go to help the RCM Youth Center. Call 301-797-8157.

3. 'We'll always have Paris'

4. A ride of silence

A ride of silence on the Hub City Bike Loop bicycle ride will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Fairgrounds Park, parking lot B, 351 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown.

5. A peek inside

Ferry Hill Place exhibits will open with a ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at  C&O Canal National Historical Park, Ferry Hill Place, 16500 Shepherdstown Pike, Sharpsburg.  The exhibits tell the Civil War stories of the C&O Canal, including the experiences of Henry Kyd Douglas, who grew up at Ferry Hill. The exhibit is open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Free. Go to
