Free child IDs available from 5 to 7 today at MCTC

May 09, 2012

Maryland Correctional Training Center, off Md. 65 south of Hagerstown, will again offer free child IDs for the general public today from 5 to 7 p.m.

This service is being done in concert with Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services  employee appreciation week activities statewide. It’s a partnership with the Maryland Masonic Child ID Program (MdCHIP) and is sponsored locally by the Williamsport Masonic Lodge.

Parents and guardians can come to the MCTC gatehouse from 5 to 7 p.m. with their children and leave with digital photographs, video, fingerprints and vital child information.

They do not have to enter the prison for this service.

When the program was inaugurated in 2009, IDs were provided for 125 children.
