Robert Wilson Fiddler Sr., 76, of 341 Ridge Ave., Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his home.

Born May 19, 1935, in Leetown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lonnie Fulkner and Mammie Viola Johnson Fiddler.

He was retired from the City of Hagerstown Engineering Department.

He was a member of the Goodwill Athletic Club and a life member of the North American Rod & Gun Club.  

He is survived by his wife, Anna R. Rager Fiddler; two sons, Gary W. Fiddler Sr. and Robert W. Fiddler Jr., both of Hagerstown; five sisters, Mary Dowler, Shirley Howe, Mammie Harnish  and Marie Davis, all of Hagerstown, and Margaret Cosgrove of Prince George, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Fiddler of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Natasha Stadler, and her husband, Martin Stadler Jr., and Gary W. Fiddler Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Martin Stadler III, Jordan Stadler, and Keira Stadler.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Viola Fiddler, Daisy Clipp, Helen Gettel and Mildred Fiddler; and three brothers, Herman Fiddler, Marion "Buddy" Fiddler and Malhon Fiddler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Alan Waddell will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
