Samantha Rae "Sam" Kelly, 17, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle accident.
She was born June 23, 1994, in Carlsbad, N.M., to Jonna Lynn Reynolds Vinci of Hagerstown and Keith Edward Kelly of Unionville, Va.
She was a senior at Williamsport High School. She was captain of the varsity volleyball team and captain of the varsity tennis team. She was also a Link Crew leader and an honor student. She was also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Sam was a member of First Christian Church, Hagerstown. She was a youth deacon and involved in summer missions.
Survivors, besides her parents, include stepfather, Brian Vinci of Hagerstown; stepmother, Alta Blietz of Unionville; brother, Jack R. Kelly of Hagerstown; maternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Reynolds of Williamsport, Md.; and paternal grandmother, Regina Kelly of Hagerstown. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, James R. Kelly.
The family will receive friends at First Christian Church, Hagerstown, on Thursday, May 10, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers may be delivered to the church anytime after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at First Christian Church, Hagerstown, on Friday, May 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Steven L. Johns-Boehme officiating and the Rev. Fred Harris assisting. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
