Town's integration is latest history series topic

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — “Brown v. Board of Education and Integration in Shepherdstown” will be the featured topic on May 24 for the fourth in the Historic Shepherdstown Commission’s speaker series.

Professor Hannah Geffert of Shepherd University will emcee a panel, including Bishop Charles Hunter, on growing up in Shepherdstown and the impact of integration; Evelyn Taylor, on Shepherdstown churches; Jim Taylor, on integration at Shepherd College; and Margaret Grantham.

The session will begin at 7 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4257 Kearneysville Pike, Shepherdstown.

The program will include music by the Ambassadors.

The Historic Shepherdstown Commission’s Speaker Series is part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the town.
