CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Bank of Charles Town announces the addition of Steve Michael as vice president and market executive in the Commercial Loan Division, covering the Washington/Frederick County, Md., region.

Michael is a native of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and a Shepherd University graduate. He brings many years of banking experience to the division. He is knowledgeable in all areas of commercial and industrial lending, specializing in lines of credit, term loans for equipment and capital, and commercial real estate.

He is involved in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Longmeadow and a board member for the nonprofit organizations Aspiring To Serve Inc. and the Brooklane Foundation.

Michael lives in Hagerstown with his wife, Debra.



Shepherd University

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Colleen Nolan, dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Shepherd University, has been named an ACE Fellow for academic year 2012-13 by the American Council on Education.

The ACE Fellows Program, established in 1965, is designed to strengthen institutions and leadership in American higher education by identifying and preparing promising senior faculty and administrators for responsible positions in college and university administration. Fifty-seven fellows, nominated by the presidents or chancellors of their institutions, were selected this year following an application process.

Nolan became dean at Shepherd in July 2009 after serving five years as chairwoman of the Department of Biological Sciences at St. Mary’s University in Texas, where she had served as a faculty member since 1991. At the University of Michigan, Nolan was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Environmental and Industrial Health (1990-91) and a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (1988-90).

Nolan earned a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Washington State University, a Master of Science in animal science from the University of Idaho, and a doctorate in physiology of reproduction and growth from Texas A&M University.

She is a native of Greencastle, Pa., and in 2011 received a Bachelor of Arts in art with a concentration in graphic design from Shippensburg University.



The Bodyworks Massage Center

Kendra R. Lehman, who is nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork, and a registered massage practitioner in Maryland, recently joined the team of massage professionals at The Bodyworks Massage Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown.

Lehman is a 2009 graduate of the Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork program at Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.

A professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Lehman’s training includes Swedish, deep tissue, myofacial, reflexology and hot stone massage techniques.

Gunder has been a licensed Realtor since 1979, and holds licenses for Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is among the top 2 percent of NRT’s sales professionals, based on gross income. He specializes in residential and developments.

Mills also is licensed in Pennsylvania and Maryland. She has earned the designations of accredited buyer representative, Cartus Network affinity specialist and seniors real estate specialist.

Wetzel earned his Realtor designation in October. He earned rookie of the month, a category for agents in the business for less than five years.
