Richard and Donna Schnurr of Williamsport celebrated their 50th anniversary March 25, 2012, at a surprise party held by their children and grandchildren.
The Schnurrs were married March 23, 1962, at First Baptist Church by the Rev. G. Bartow Harris. The Schnurrs have two children and six grandchildren: Kimberly Hay and her husband, Richard, and their children Lauren, Connor and Morgan, of Greencastle Pa.; and Jeffrey Schnurr and his wife Kim, and children Jared, Ryan and Julie, of Williamsport.
Richard retired from Mack Trucks/Volvo Powertrain in 2000 after 43 years. He continued as a consultant for a few more years and serves as a tour ambassador.
Donna worked for the Board of Education for many years and was employed with the law offices of Kaylor and Wantz. She then returned to the Board of Education, where she retired after a total of 25 years in 2000.
Their celebration was attended by 75 of their friends and family and a musical PowerPoint presentation featuring photos of their lives was shown.
