W.D. "Bill" McMillan, 84, of Falling Waters, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the VA Medical Center.

Born Sept. 27, 1927, in Little Georgetown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clyde S. McMillan and Elizabeth C. Newkirk McMillan.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.

Bill was a self-employed farmer, loved driving his dump truck, and owner/operator of his own sawmill.

He was well known in the area with local contractors.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jean Royer McMillan; two daughters, Laura E. Kayda and husband, Kevin, of Carlisle, Pa., Jenny A. Everhart and husband, Doug, of Falling Waters; four grandchildren, Kevin Lee Kayda II, Stephanie Kayda, Michelle Kayda and Ethan Smith and wife, Samantha; and one sister, Evelyn Jackson and husband, Donald, of Novato, Calif.

He was preceded in death by one brother, George McMillan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at the Harmony United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Terri Cofiell officiating. Military graveside services will be held at Harmony Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home.

Bill's request was no flowers, but that memorial contributions be given to the Harmony United Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1510, Falling Waters, WV 25419.
