Speedway to honor fire, rescue personnel

Hagerstown Speedway invites all fire, rescue and emergency medical services personnel to the speedway Saturday. 

All career, volunteer and retired personnel will be admitted free to the evening’s program of stock car racing.

Passes will be issued to those with proof of affiliation. Participants are encouraged to wear their uniforms.

Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co. will have several pieces of apparatus on display, along with Sparky, the fire prevention dog. Personnel from the Clear Spring unit will also  demonstrate vehicle extrication. In addition, Washington County Fire and Rescue Association will display its Life Safety Education Trailer, and Little Miss Fire Prevention will be on hand.

It will be a night for the speedway staff and racing fans to honor area heroes.

The evening’s 50/50 will be donated to the Hope Goins Fund.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Admission costs $15. 

A full card of racing will include the late model series, plus pure stocks and two features for the hobby stock division. 


The speedway is six miles west of Hagerstown on U.S. 40.
