Franklin County Cub Scouts compete in Pinewood Derby

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — On March 10, Cub Scouts, their families and Scout leaders from across southern Franklin County, Pa., in the Tuscarora District of the Mason-Dixon Council, Boy Scouts of America, gathered at Otterbein United Brethren Church in Greencastle for the annual district Pinewood Derby race. 

There were 38 Scouts in attendance, which included the top five derby winners at their individual pack level. 

Scouts were represented from 10 Cub Scout packs from Mercersburg, Pa., Greencastle, Waynesboro, Pa., Quincy, Pa., Mount Alto, Pa., and Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. 

Joe Burns, from Pack 287 in Greencastle, served as the event chairman.

The district congratulated brothers Evan Clopper and David Clopper of Mercersburg Pack 28 for their first- and second-place finish in the race.
