CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College announced that Brittany Weaver, daughter of Curtis and Dawn Weaver of Williamsport, was recently inducted into the Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows.
Weaver is majoring in political science and minoring in history.
She is a member of the varsity women’s soccer team, chairwoman of the honor board, president of the Students Against Human Trafficking organization and is a Relay for Life team captain.
Additionally, Weaver represents Public Leadership Education Network as an ambassador to Washington College.
This summer, Weaver will participate in a research-intensive seminar at Oxford University, studying the relationship between the Catholic Church and family and women’s rights in Latin America. Weaver graduated from Williamsport High School.
The society is the college’s flagship academic enrichment program, one that rewards creativity, initiative and intellectual curiosity with competitive grants to support self-directed undergraduate research and scholarship anywhere in the world. The society brings together the best and brightest in what founder Douglass Cater, the College’s president from 1982-1990, called a “companionship of learning.”
