Richard F. “Rebo” Crampton, 82, of Antietam, Md., passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 3, 1929, in Antietam Furnace to the late Franklin Harvey and Lottie Rebecca Gray Crampton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rayetta May Seaton Crampton, on Sept. 2, 2011.
He was employed by the Department of Interior with the C&O Canal National Historical Park, Sharpsburg, Md., until retiring in 1991.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War.
He was a member of Antietam Church of God, Sharpsburg.
He was a past member of Antietam Post No. 236 American Legion, Sharpsburg.
He was a member of AARP.
He enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include son, Vernon Richard Crampton and his wife, Carolyn Johnston, of Hagerstown, Md.; sister, Helen Rebecca Grey of Antietam; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Clinton Wayne Crampton; a sister, Ethel Louise Knight; and a brother, Leonard Atlee Crampton.
Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg, on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jan S. Wade officiating.
