April 30, 2012

SHARPSBURG — As part of an ongoing effort to encourage tourists along the C&O Canal to visit local towns along the towpath, National Park Service officials plan to unveil an interpretive wayside exhibit Tuesday morning at Snyder’s Landing.

The exhibit, to be unveiled at 11:30 a.m., invites visitors to bike a mile and a half on Snyder’s Landing Road to explore the town of Sharpsburg, and to use the services there and learn about the town’s history, according to a news release.

Similar exhibits direct park visitors to Hancock, Williamsport, Brunswick, Point of Rocks and Shepherdstown, W.Va.
