Hot dogs, rolls and condiments will be provided. Families are encouraged to bring side dishes, beverages and lawn chairs for the picnic.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and games begin at 6:15 p.m.

To RSVP, call 301-432-8615.

Chicken barbecue to be held May 12

The Boonsboro Lions Club will hold its first chicken barbecue of the season Saturday, May 12, next to Columbia Bank.

The same special blend of spices will be used, and chicken will be served beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Proceeds support youth groups, preschool vision screening, college scholarships, hospital equipment and other community activities.

Zumba classes under way at church

Zumba classes are in session at St. Mark’s Parish Hall, Lappans Road, Boonsboro.

A 15-class punch card costs $30 and can be used at the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday classes, at either the 5:30 or 6:45 p.m. classes. The session runs through the third week of August.

For more information, call instructor Anita Binder at 301-393-0884.
