On Oct. 29, Autumn Grabill, 7, held her birthday party at Mikie’s Ice Cream and Green Cow Restaurant in Greencastle, Pa.

Autumn invited many family members and friends.

Autumn received 18 presents, all of which she donated to the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program.

Tom Hazlett, Toys for Tots chairman of the Landis McCleaf Detachment, Marine Corps League in Franklin County, Pa., donated the toys to the Antietam Detachment, Marine Corps League in Washington County.

The toys were eventually donated to needy children in Washington County.

Some of those attending Autumn’s party included her mother, Steph Grabill; her brother, Tim Grabill; her grandfather, John Grabill; her grandmother, Ann Rosenberg; her adult friend, Nippy; her baby-sitter, Lisa; and Jay Koch, associate member of the Antietam Detachment, Marine Corps League in Washington County.

Autumn is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County, where Koch is employed.

On Feb. 7, Autumn was honored by the Washington County Marine Corps League at its regular meeting.

Harold Feigley, acting commandant, awarded Autumn a certificate of appreciation, which recognized her initiative, leadership, friendliness, courtesy and compassion.

Autumn’s mom, Steph, and adult friend, Nippy, were also in attendance.
