Edward W. “Eddie” Harper, 53, of Needmore, Pa., died Saturday, April 28, 2011, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born March 23, 1959, in Olney, Md., he was the son of Donald J. and Mary F. Blackburn Harper of Hancock.

He was a member of the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, and was employed by Douglas Motors in Hancock as a warranty administrator.

He was a 1977 graduate of Hancock High School.

He enjoyed riding his soft-tail Harley and ATVs, being with family and friends, and he loved life.

Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother, Richard Harper, Needmore; two sisters, Mary K. Howard and husband, Nick, of Hancock, and Donna E. Harper of Hagerstown; nephews, Brandon Howard, Michael Orndorff and Ryan Harper; and nieces, Amanda Howard, Laurie Hurd and Ashley Harper.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore. The Rev. Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eddie’s name may be made to the Needmore Bible Church at the above address.
