YMCA Healthy Kids Day events in Pa. focus on healthy eating

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The girls of “Jump Ship” were among the many participants at Sunday’s Healthy Kids Day at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA.

Healthy Kids Day is a national YMCA initiative focused on wellness. Jen Gossert, director of family services for Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, said this year’s event had an increased focus on healthful eating.

“We normally get 250 to 300 people,” she said.

The Waynesboro (Pa.) YMCA hosted its Healthy Kids Day on Saturday. It featured dozens of vendors, and included dance demonstrations and an obstacle course for children.
