April 29, 2012

KEEDYSVILLE — Police said dense fog was a factor in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning at the intersection of Shepherdstown Pike and Coffman Farm Road.

Daniel Houston Nicely, 20, of 6332 Coffman Farm Road, Keedysville, pulled onto Shepherdstown Pike from Coffman Farm Road in a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer at about 7:40 a.m. and was struck by a 2003 Saturn being driven by Gloria Jean Herren, 60, of 3418A Whitings Neck Road, Martinsburg, W.Va., according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicely and Herren suffered minor injuries, according to a news release.

There was dense fog in the area at the time and visibility was limited to about 150 feet, the release said.
