Antietam Cable telephone service restored

April 26, 2012

Antietam Cable Television, Inc., telephone customers were without service Thursday night after an equipment failure, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.

Emergency officials said phone service was restored as of 10:09 p.m.

When the failure occurred, Antietam Cable customers could not make outgoing telephone calls, receive incoming calls or make calls to 911, said Jason Kline, a 911 communications supervisor.

Kline said he was told the problem was related to a “switch failure.”

Antietam Cable officials could not be reached for comment.
