TOPS 0462

TOPS, or Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 0462 in Smithsburg had another good meeting last Thursday. It was full of motivation for chapter members who recorded weight losses and inspiration for those members who had a gain for the week.

Three chapter members attended State Recogntion Days in Ocean City, Md., April 12 to 14. This year’s theme was “TOPS Road to Success.”

Success stories were told about weight losses. Total losses for the Maryland-D.C., area was more than 7,000 pounds last year.

The Smithsburg chapter was reconized for its average weight loss of 8.81 pounds per member.

John M. was reconized for being a chapter leader, along with Mack and Dale H. for being chapter weight recorder and assistant weight recorder.

Mack and Dale were also reconized as being past TOPS state royalty, meaning they were the best losing males and reached their goal weight in the state of Maryland. Mack did it in 1987 and Dale did it 1994.

The chapter meets Thursdays at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 51 S. Main St. in Smithsburg. Weigh-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6 p.m.
