SALISBURY, Md. — Glynn Davis went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Nick Delmonico went 2-for-4 with a two-run double as the Delmarva Shorebirds defeated Hagerstown 6-2 on Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep of the Suns.
It was the fifth straight loss for the Suns (6-8), who finished 1-6 on their seven-game road trip.
On Wednesday, Hagerstown scored two runs in the top of the third inning for a 2-0 lead against Delmarva starter Timothy Berry.
After Billy Burns and Jason Martinson hit consecutive one-out singles, both scored on Hendry Jimenez’s double to left.
The Shorebirds (9-5) tied the game in the bottom of the third on three singles and an error.
After taking a 4-2 advantage in the fourth, Delmarva padded its lead in the fifth on Delmonico’s two-run double.
Berry (1-2) went 5 2/3 innings for the win, allowing two runs, six hits and a walk while striking out six.
Jake Cowan was perfect over the final 3 1/3 innings as he picked up his first save.
Suns starter Kylin Turnbull (0-1) took the loss, allowing six runs, nine hits and two walks while striking out five in 4 2/3 innings.
Jimenez finished with two of Hagerstown’s six hits.
