Man charged in armed robbery in Hagerstown

Hagerstown Police have charged a man in connection with an armed robbery early Thursday morning at 825 Concord St.

The man, whose name has not been released because officers said he was being uncooperative, was charged with armed robbery, possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft of less than $1,000 and theft of a motor vehicle, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release.

Police were called at 4:35 a.m. to 825 Concord St. for a report of an armed robbery, the release said. The robber pulled a knife and took a set of keys and a 1999 Plymouth Voyager from the victim.

Officers were given a description of the robber, who was captured a short time later walking in the 800 block of West Washington Street, according to the release.

Police said the vehicle was not recovered.
