Williamsport Elementary names Good Citizens

Williamsport Elementary School has announced its Good Citizens.

Milestones

Happy birthday to Goldie Brown, who turns 81 Friday. She shares birthday wishes with her friend, Wanda Whipp, whose birthday is also Friday.



Community shred day

Williamsport Moose Lodge will sponsor a community shred day Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. in the lower parking lot behind the lodge.

Participants can have up to a maximum of four boxes or bags of papers to shred for free.



Blue Band Night is tonight at Wendy’s

Wendy’s and the Williamsport Blue Band Boosters invite the community to Blue Band Night today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the 1570 Wesel Blvd. location.

Wendy’s will give a portion of the check to the boosters. An added bonus for the event is that Wendy’s will offer new products tonight.

Slippery potpie dinner planned at Calvary Temple

A ham and chicken slippery potpie dinner will be held Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Calvary Temple, 147 S. Conococheague St.

The menu includes all-you-can-eat potpie, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert and drink.

Tickets cost $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for those ages 3 to 12. Takeout will be available. Proceeds benefit the church’s youth group trip to Creation Festival.



WHS plans to hold open house April 25 

Williamsport High School will hold an open house Wednesday, April 25, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for all students who are signed up to take advanced placement courses next school year.

The meeting will be held in the school’s auditorium.

A brief program outlining the benefits, expectations and end-of-course exams will be followed by an opportunity to meet with the teachers in an informal setting.

Slippery potpie dinner

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, will hold a slippery potpie dinner Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., sponsored by the St. Andrew Women. Dinner includes dessert and beverage.

Tickets cost $8 for adults, $4 for those ages 6 to 12 years old, and are free for those younger than 6.

Town Museum has new displays

The Town Museum of Williamsport, in the lower level of Springfield Farm Barn, is open every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

New displays include Civil War soldier, uniform, and supplies, fishing lore display, antique doll collection, and Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab showing Washington County artifacts found during archaeological digs.
