Ronald Eugene Oberholzer, 75, of 8652 Downsville Pike, Williamsport, MD 21795, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, in his home after battling an illness for the past year.

He was born Sept. 24, 1936, to Preston and Esther (Hoover) Oberholzer in Waynesboro, Pa.

He married Clara Mae (Noll) on April 29, 1978, in Leitersburg.

He worked his early years at the shoe factory and cold storage before going to Frick Co., where he worked from June 1961 to June 2002.

He is survived by his children, Babbette Oberholzer Canales of Livingston, Texas, Corey Bingaman of Waynesboro, Scott Noll of Dallas, Pa., Kelly (Noll) Hott of Williamsport, Ronald A. Oberholzer of Greencastle, Pa., and Jason Hott of Williamsport; and grandchildren, Kerri Langley of Tulsa, Texas, 3rd Class Petty Officer Cody Kennedy of Lemoore, Calif., Madison Cheyenne Oberholzer, Hagerstown, Hunter M. and Connor M. Hott of Williamsport, Brian Oberholzer of Oakland, Md., and Kip Bingaman of Waynesboro; great-grandchildren, Skylur, Michael and Joshua Langley of Tulsa; brother, Preston Oberholzer of Greencastle; several nieces and nephews; and friend of the family, Stephanie Fraley.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Emma Oberholzer, Janet Vanderau, Velma Gossert and Gloria Martz; six brothers, Cecil Oberholzer, Reginald Oberholzer, R. Dean Oberholzer, Samuel Oberholzer, Maurice Oberholzer and Lloyd Oberholzer; and family friend, Shirley Oberholzer Bingaman.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching old western/action movies, sitting on the porch and being with his family, and also listening to bluegrass and country music.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Price Cemetery, Waynesboro, on Friday, April 20, 2012, at 3 p.m. There is a dinner in his memory to follow at Blue Ridge Summit Fire Hall in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ronald E. Oberholzer at Patriot Federal Credit Union.
