Robert N. Landis, 95, passed from this life April 14, 2012, under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle surrounded by his family.

Robert was the only son of Robert and Charlotte “Kerns” Landis, born March 21, 1917, in Berkeley County.

He was preceded from this life by his loving wife, Jane “Brown” Landis, with 58 years of marriage, being married Oct. 7, 1939.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Katharine and husband, Floyd Owens, Betty Jane and husband, Joseph Dellinger, and Roberta and husband, Carroll Routzahn; six grandsons; six great-grandchildren; one  great-great-grandchild; and eight nieces. Robert is survived by one sister, Mary Jane Gano, also of Falling Waters.

He graduated from Martinsburg High School. After high school, he was employed by Potomac Edison.

In 1951, he purchased a 107-acre farm and was a dairy farmer for Maryland/Virginia Co-op. Later years he went back to work as an electrician at Pifer Electric and later retired from Miller Electric Co. in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was a lifetime member of the Masons and also a lifelong member of Harmony United Methodist Church.

Robert was a dedicated father and grandfather, and had a great love for preserving nature and wildlife.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Harmony United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terri S. Cofiell officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery in Marlowe, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harmony United Methodist Church, 9455 Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters, WV 25419; or to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
