Six people displaced by fire on Greensburg Road

Six people were displaced by a house fire Saturday afternoon on Greensburg Road near Martinsburg, W.Va., according to the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters found smoke showing when they arrived at the single-story house at 2997 Greensburg Road, Capt. Denny Carter said.

It took firefighters about 30 to 40 minutes to control the fire, reported at 4:40 p.m., because it was in a crawl space, Carter said. No one was injured.

The cause of the blaze won’t be released until an investigation has been completed, he said.

About 20 firefighters from Bedington, Baker Heights, Hedgesville and Shepherdstown responded to the scene.
