HAGERSTOWN — Shawn Johns of Spinning the Tunes DJ Service will provide discounted DJ services to Pre-school Nursery Inc. to raise funds for a new playground.

The party will be a superhero/princess-themed event, and children are encouraged to dress as their favorite character.

The event will take place Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at 17805 Oak Ridge Drive in Hagerstown.

Admission costs $5 per child and donations are appreciated.

A raffle will be held and tickets can be purchased for a $1 a chance.

Prizes include homemade quilts, a $50 Pump-it-up gift certificate, 4-Star gym membership, 4-Star birthday party voucher, Tastefully Simple gift basket, Tip Toe Photography Studios, Boot Camp training classes and massage therapy certificates.

In addition to music, the event will include games, refreshments, dance lessons for all ages, a princess school (walk with books atop your head, drink tea and learn to curtsey), superhero boot camp (get in shape for leaping tall buildings), magic wand and superhero cape-making stations, and visits from real life superheroes — a firefighter and a police officer.
