Geneva Louise O'Connell, 76, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born May 4, 1935, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Melvin and Anna Mae Corder Barron.
She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and had been employed as an executive secretary with Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Md., for 25 years. In her youth, she was an avid roller skater.
Geneva is survived by her husband of 52 years, Louis Joseph O'Connell; two sons, Danny J. of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Timothy F. of Martinsburg; six grandchildren, James D. II, Samuel J., John M., Michael P., Jillian D. and Garrett S.; her brother, Edward L. Barron of Martinsburg; one niece, Lee Barron; and a great-nephew, Dawson.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Cameron R. O'Connell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian Shoda as celebrant. Interment prayers will be said at St. Leo Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Brown Funeral Home, South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, W.Va., with a rosary service at 8:30 p.m.
