Charles William Flowers, 70, of Hancock, Md., and a resident of Berkeley Springs Rehab and Nursing, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 11, 2012, at the facility.
Born April 20, 1941, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Elmer William and Edith Divel Flowers, and the widower of Dorothy Unger Flowers, who died Feb. 14, 1991.
He was formerly employed by F.O. Day Construction in Gaithersburg, Md.
He was a member of Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, Hancock, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Berkeley Springs, and a member of the AARP.
He is survived by one son, David Shoup of Hancock; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Hancock; and one brother, Robert Flowers of Hancock.
He was preceded in death by six sisters, Catherine Fritz, Mable Waugh, Geraldine McCormick, Edna Divelbliss, Helen Goodrich and Diane Montgomery; and one brother, James Flowers.
A service will be held Friday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14523 Exline Road, Hancock. The Rev. Philip Unger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and at the church 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday.
