Pancake breakfast planned Saturday

Wilson Ruritan will hold a country butchering and pancake breakfast Saturday, starting at 6:30 a.m. at the club, just west of Huyetts Crossroads on U.S. 40.

The menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes with one serving of puddin’ or sausage patty or sausage gravy, coffee and orange juice. 

The meal costs $4.50.

This will be the last butchering of the season.

Mission auction

Don’t forget the mission auction at St. John’s United Church of Christ on Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. 

Items will be available for review, with food served beginning at 5 p.m.

Items for bid include baked and canned goods, hand-crafted items for around the home and/or garden, services such as lawn mowing, baby-sitting, and other things.

Proceeds will go to the Clear Spring Ministerium Emergency Relief Fund and the Clear Spring Area Food Bank.

Library news

Clear Spring Library is holding  “Needles & Natter” Wednesday, April 18, at 11 a.m.  

This is a day for those who knit, crochet, cross-stitch, embroider, etc., to meet at the library for an hour of social crafting. Bring your current project and a cup. The coffee will be provided.

Did You Know?

Did you know a custom many “Clear Springers” participated in was called “Bellsnichol?”  Residents would dress up in costumes and visit homes of friends on New Year’s Eve.  Homemade goodies were passed out to visitors.
