Hagerstown police looking for man wanted in stabbing

April 09, 2012

Hagerstown Police used a dog and a helicopter Sunday night to search for a suspect in a domestic violence stabbing at Cortland Apartments, but were unsuccessful in finding the man, the Hagerstown Police Department said in a news release.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the whereabouts of David Marvin Ross, 44, of 12939 Little Elliott Drive, contact the police department.

Police responded to the area of that address at 11:04 p.m. for reports of an assault involving a knife, and found a woman inside the apartment complex with several minor cuts to her upper body, police said.

“Further investigation revealed the incident was domestic related between Ross and the victim,” the press release said. “Ross fled the area on foot and was last seen heading east away from the apartment complex.”

Ross is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information may contact police at 301-790-3700.
