Betty Lou (Rinn) Elgin, 77, of 67 Brightwood Drive in Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born June 18, 1934, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Henrietta Betts Sinn.

Betty Lou was a very involved and active member of Christ's Reformed Church, and also served as a deacon.

She was very proud of being a lifelong Girl Scout member.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Civil Air Patrol and Hagerstown Aviation Museum.

She is survived by her husband, Phil Elgin; a son, Mike Rinn of Hagerstown; stepdaughter, Belinda Fulk of Fairplay, Md.; two stepgrandchildren, Paul Fulk and wife, Kimberly, of Hagerstown, and Ann Reynolds and husband, Blair, of Fairplay; and four stepgreat-grandchildren, Elizabeth of Fairplay, and Ella, Madelyn and Alanna of Hagerstown.

A memorial service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Gregg Meserole will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
