Have an enjoyable spring break

Parents of Washington County Students, please be sure to mark the following dates on your calendars:

Schools will be closed beginning  today through Tuesday, April 10, for Spring Break and a Professional Learning Day.

Washington County Schools will resume on Wednesday, April 11.

Wishing all students, teachers and staff, a fun, relaxing and enjoyable spring break!

 

Bookmobile to stop at Hickory Elementary

Parents of students at Hickory Elementary, be sure to note the following: The Washington County Library Bookmobile will be making a stop at Hickory on Wednesday, April 11.

 

Easter services planned at Concordia Lutheran Church

Concordia Lutheran Church, located at 17906 Garden Lane, Hagerstown,will be hosting Easter services on the following dates and times:

Maundy Thursday (today), 7 p.m.; Good Friday, 7 p.m.; Easter Sunday, 7 a.m., 8:15 a.m. Son Rise Service and 10:45 a.m. Easter Worship Service. A light breakfast will be served from 9-10:30 a.m. on Easter morning.

 

Parents Day Out plans open house

Parents Day Out is holding an open house on Thursday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 am. Registration forms for fall classes will be available during the event.

The nursery/preschool operates each Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. from September through May. Children from 1-5 years old are eligible to attend. The children are grouped by age and learn through activities, stories, games and play. The children are in a safe and caring environment, with staff members who really enjoy being with children.

The Parents Day Out program is located at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown.

 

Church Preschool to host princess/superhero event

The Church of the Holy Trinity preschool program invites children to don the costume of their favorite superhero or princess and participate in themed activities and games.

A disc jockey, music, games, crafts, light refreshments, princess and superhero “training” and raffles are planned. All proceeds will be set aside for a new outdoor play set.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 14,from 4-6 p.m. at the church at 17805 Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown. Admission to the event is $5 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is recommended for children ages 7 and under.

Be sure to bring along a child's size long-sleeve T-shirt of any color to be cut and fashioned into a cape. For additional details, contact Ms. Tearza at 301-491-5245.
