Spring jump-off dance planned at VFW hall
The “OTB” has planned a spring jump-off dance on Saturday, April 14, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 70 East Washington Street. Friday, there will be a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. On Sunday there will be a sunrise Easter celebration at 6:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. There will also be an Easter celebration service on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

The Blossom School of Etiquette plans graduation
The Blossom School of Etiquette will host its first graduation of 2012 on Saturday, April 14 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Homewood Suite by Hilton Hotel, 1650 Pullman Lane.

Business professor to speak at YMCA banquet
The Hagerstown YMCA Achievers, a diversity program for students in grades six through 12, is hosting a scholarship banquet on Saturday, April 21, at the Bridge of Life Church, 14 Potomac St., Hagerstown. A social hour begins at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.
Students in the business cluster lead the event to raise funds for college scholarships for high school seniors.
The keynote speaker is Bernard Grenway, a professor of business at Kaplan College in Hagerstown. Grenway serves as an assistant professor of management at the University of Maryland. He is also the lead consultant and president of the Grenway Consulting Group and specializes in organizational development, corporate training and development and academic research.
He has written several books, including “Organizational Change: Interviews and Keys to Competitive Advantage” and “Job Satisfaction, Employee Motivation, and the Minority Employee.”
Tickets are available at the front desk of the YMCA. Cost is $15 for children ages 4 to 11 and $20 for individuals 12 and older.
