$250,000 Mega Millions ticket sold in Boonsboro

April 02, 2012

While the big winners in Friday's record $656 million Mega Millions lottery drawing have yet to step forward, a ticket sold in Washington County will be good for a $250,000 consolation prize.

The Maryland Lottery announced that a ticket sold at the Sheetz store at 20723 National Highway, Boonsboro, is one of four tickets sold in Maryland that matched five numbers, but not the Mega Ball, in Friday's drawing.

The winning numbers drawn Friday were 2, 4, 23, 38 and 46. The Mega Ball was 23.

A ticket sold in Baltimore County matched all five numbers, plus the Mega Ball. The holder of that ticket, plus the holders of tickets sold in Illinois and Kansas, will split the $656 million jackpot, the largest in U.S. history.

As of Monday afternoon, the Maryland winner has not come forward, according to Maryland Lottery officials.

Winners have 182 days from the lottery drawing date to claim their prizes.
