WILLIAMSPORT — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man with kidnapping and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Sunday night at the Improved Order of Red Men club at 16129 Lappans Road in Williamsport.

Jeremy Shane Keadle, 30, no address given, was charged with kidnapping, carjacking, first- and second-degree assault, robbery, theft of less than $1,000, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, false imprisonment and two motor vehicle violations, the sheriff’s office said.

Keadle was being held on $350,000 bond at Washington County Detention Center, according to District Court records.

A caller to 911 at 10:42 p.m. reported that a female employee of the club was forced into her own vehicle and abducted by her former boyfriend, deputies said in a news release.

The woman was being assaulted as they drove away, but was fighting back, police alleged.

Deputy 1st Class Rick Kemmerer found the vehicle stopped on the on-ramp from Lappans Road to Interstate 81, police said. Kemmerer saw the woman being assaulted on the road beside the vehicle, police said.

Keadle got back into the vehicle when Kemmerer pulled up and appeared to be complying with the deputy’s commands, police said.

Keadle became less cooperative, taunted Kemmerer and reached toward the deputy, who then used a stun gun to subdue him, police said.

The woman, whose identity was not provided, was treated at Meritus Medical Center and released, police said.

Officials at the club declined to comment on the incident.
