1. Calling single ladies

Charity Bachelor Auction will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Fountain Head Country Club, 13316 Fountain Head Road, Hagerstown. The auction will feature 11 bachelors from the Washington County area, ranging in age from 25 to 50-ish. Proceeds benefit Safe Place. Cost is $10, includes heavy hors d'oeuvres. Call 240-420-4300.



2. A discussion on Beethoven

Erik Reid Jones will discuss Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Orchestra at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at The Maryland Symphony office, 30 W. Washington St., downtown Hagerstown. This is part of the Great Composers Lecture Series. Call 301-739-3250, ext. 123, to reserve your seat.



3. Just cruisin' together

Williamsport spring cruise-in is from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 6, in front of Town Hall, Williamsport.  DJ music, 50/50 drawing. Have your photograph taken with the Easter Bunny. $3, to benefit local charities. Call 301-573-1501.



4. Murrow signing off

Shepherdstown Film Society will show "Good Night, and Good Luck" (PG), at 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Shepherd University's Reynolds Hall, King Street, Shepherdstown, W.Va.  The film is a fictionalized account of TV journalist Edward R. Murrow (George Clooney) promoting press freedoms against the anti-communist crusade of Sen. Joseph McCarthy. Todd Cotgreave will lead a post-film discussion. Free. 5. Easter at the Market

Easter at the Market will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at City Farmers Market, 25 W. Church St., Hagerstown. Activities include an Easter egg hunt from 8 to 11 a.m., for children ages 12 and younger. The Easter Bunny will visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Anyone, older than 12 wearing bunny ears, might earn a special treat. Go to www.hagerstownmarket.org.
