Stage falls off pickup, causes minor damage to vehicle

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — One vehicle sustained minor damage after an aluminum construction stage fell off the truck in front of it Thursday morning on Interstate 81, Pennsylvania State Police said.

A 2007 Ford F-350 was northbound near exit 3 in Antrim Township at 9:50 a.m. when the stage fell off, police said in a news release.

The stage was not properly secured, police said.

The stage was struck by a 1997 Ford F-250, which was pulling a camper trailer, police said.

Neither driver was identified in the release.

The driver of the F-350 was issued a citation, police said.

Man charged with retail theft after allegedly not paying for gas

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — An Orrtanna, Pa., man was charged with retail theft after driving away without paying for gas Thursday night, Pennsylvania State Police in Franklin County said.

Justin Jones, 21, was charged in the 9:38 p.m. incident that occurred at Rutter’s, 4030 Lincoln Way East, police said.

Police said a description of the vehicle and driver led to Jones being identified and charged.
